My name is Mi-Jean Mark-Anthony Henry. A sixth grade student of the Pike Primary and Infant School in the parish of Manchester. I am a well behaved, friendly and diligent student. I am also a member of the Spanish club at my school. I believe learning a second language is vital in today’s society, especially since I would like to become a soldier in the future. This skill could make me appear more intelligent and more marketable while executing my duties as a service man. I believe working together, creating, and preserving the sense of community is very important in our country. Especially now than ever, there is an increasing level of crime, violence and a continuous decrease of values and morality among our fellow men. These beliefs in community are just some of the key elements that the “Granville and Viola South Scholarship Fund” represents and equates with some of my future goals and aspirations as a community man.
I am no more deserving of this scholarship than any other member of my class because individually, we may all have a reason why this scholarship could be important. However, I am not a top-grader-student. I am a trying student, one that has seen many struggles but hasn’t let that deter me from trying. I will keep trying harder as I push towards secondary school. With that being said, the scholarship would be very much appreciated, since my father is the only breadwinner in our home. This would help with covering the expenses of tuition, books and uniforms for the upcoming school year.
Should I be chosen as a benefactor of the “Granville and Viola South Scholarship Fund,” it would make my parents very proud and it would motivate me to do even better in school. In fact, going forward I will also be willing to do whatever is necessary to make the foundation proud while standing as a role model to fellow classmates.
Please consider my application, looking forward to hearing from you in advance, Thank you.
M. Henry
